Policies:
-
Attendance at every class is critical to your success in this course. I expect you to be on time and ready to go once it's 4:00 pm and that you stay till the end of class. Any missed lecture is your responsibility to make up; just remember, if you fall behind, it will be very difficult to catch up.
-
Computers are not to be used during lecture time. ?Once I begin lecturing, you must stop typing on the keyboards and monitors must be ignored. Failure to do so will result in you being excused from class.
-
Cell phones are to be turned off and put away during class. Any cell phone that rings during class will be confiscated. Leaving during the middle of class to answer a page/call is extremely rude.
-
Assignments are to be turned in by 4pm on the day they are due.
- Assignments can be turned in up to 24 hours late with a penalty of 10% of the grade. If the assignment is between 24 and 48 hours late you will lose 20% of your grade. Anything later will not be accepted.
- No early or late midterm or final will be given under any circumstance. Do not make early Spring Break or end of term arrangements.
- No incompletes will be given.
- The cheating policy is defined in Pacific Stuff & the Pacific Catalog as well as the Academic Policy that each of you signed. Be sure you read this policy carefully. The Web, textbooks and any other references are simply references for you. This means that copying text or images from any source must be completely cited. Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated, and any assignment or exam that has been cheated on will result in a zero on that assignment or exam.
- Computer failure, software failure, and lack of computer access are not accepted as excuses for late assignments; therefore, start work on the programs as soon as they are assigned and don't put them off until the last minute. Make sure to keep backup copies of your assignment. Corrupting or accidentally deleting your assignment is also not an acceptable excuse for late assignments.
- The instructor reserves the right to raise or lower a student's grade based on class participation and attendance.
