Sample Handson Final Review

  1. Create a folder in your Sites directory on Euler called yourloginsample so for me that would be khoj0332sample. All work will be done in this folder.
  2. Grab the graphic at http://zeus.cs.pacificu.edu/shereen/cs120/Lectures/oregon.jpg and place the graphic in this folder.
  3. Using Photoshop, create a background called bgoregon.gif that has two columns and can be tiled. Further, this background should go well with the Oregon graphic.
  4. Create a Web page called samplestuff.html that uses your graphic as a background and places the picture in the second column of the page.
  5. Turn Forest Grove into a hot region such that clicking in this area takes one to http://www.pacificu.edu.
  6. Create a rollover called INFORMATION that is displayed in column 1 and takes you to a page called information.html.
  7. Your solution is to be accessed using http://euler.math.pacificu.edu/~loginname/yourloginsample/samplestuff.htm. For me that would be http://euler.math.pacificu.edu/~khoj0332/khoj0332sample/samplestuff.htm.
  8. Your solution should also be accessed from MyWeb using the url http://MyWeb.pacificu.edu/login/samplestuff.htm

The final is comprehensive, so make sure you review all class notes and chapters covered in the textbook. The above handson example is not comprehensive and is only an example of some things that can be asked during the handon portion of the exam.

Remember, for the handson portion of the exam, you can use the front and back of one 3x5 card.
