Winter is a Computer Science server where we will be storing all of our work from now on. Remember to log off your computer after you have finished using it, as people will have access to your stuff if you forget. They can and have in the past deleted files of people who stayed logged on. Also, after you log off, your files are erased from the computer you were working on.

You can access Winter after you log on to the computers using your PU NET ID and password.

Connect to Winter as follows:

á      Open 'My Network Places' on the desktop

á      Double click on 'Add Network Place'

á      In the textbox type: \\winter.cs.pacificu.edu\StudentSpace and click next.

á      When you are prompted for a name and password, type in your PUNET ID as your name and your Pacific ID number (including zeroÕs) as your password. Click next.

á      When prompted to name this network place, just type in Winter in the textbox and click finish.

This will open up the StudentSpace folder, which should contain a folder in your name. You can use this folder to store your work. The StudentSpace folder also contains the ÔCS130 Drop BoxÕ, which is the folder to which you will be submitting all your assignments.
