Points: 50
- Display on the screen the number of characters in the word without showing the word.
- Allow the user to guess at one of the letters in the alphabet that might be in the word.
- If the letter is not contained in the word, then display one of the six pieces of the hangman. Further, show on the screen somewhere the incorrect guesses. If the letter is contained in one or more places in the word, show the user where these exist in the word and repeat step 2.
- The game ends by the user either getting all of the letters in the word with some kind of "You win message", or using up their six guesses in which case, the entire hangman is displayed along with the entire word and a message "Try again."
OK, that's it. You will notice that I have not given you any UI. The UI that you come up with is all up to you. How you go about implementing and drawing the UI is also all up to you. The sky is the limit on this one. You can use bitmaps or draw lines and circles or combinations of each. We will do some kind of class demo, so your work will be on display.
For this assignment, grading is as follows:
1) 40% - Have you correctly implemented the rules of the game correctly?
2) 30% - How professional looking and functional is your UI?
3) 20% - Have you followed the coding standards?
4) 10% - Does your program pass the 1,000,000 Gremlins test with no memory leaks.
Note1: Write your program in C using the CodeWarrior 8.0 for Palm OS compiler and use your last name for the project name. So as an example , I would use ryan as my project name. Turn in an unzipped copy of your folder in the CS360 drop box.
